FIRST EVENT of the 2020 SEASON!
“Salute to the Volunteers”
Museum Open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Lancaster Engine Runs at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
10:30 a.m. Dedication and the ribbon cutting of the Cessna Crane Simulator in the Main Hangar.
11:00 a.m. Hear the Roar of the Lancaster’s Merlin Engines
1:45 p.m. Awarding the Jonathan Spinks Memorial Award for scrounging/collecting artifacts and Frank Dwyer Memorial Volunteer of the Year Award to museum volunteers.
1:50 p.m. Nanton Quality of Life Foundation lets us know that Volunteers are an intracule part of Nanton’s community.
2:00 p.m. The afternoon engine run is dedicated to all the volunteers that spend countless hours working on Museum projects every Tuesday shop night and Saturday. Volunteers at the Bomber Command Museum of Canada support the museum’s operations and development. Our volunteers have been accumulating a significant collection of archival material that pertains to the museum’s goals and collections policy.
The community’s volunteers will also be recognized for contributing valuable time to non-profits and after school programs by the Nanton Quality of Life Foundation.
National Volunteer Week starts on April 19th and runs to the 25th.
