#36 Service Flying Training School
#36 SFTS operated from September 28, 1941 to November 3, 1944.
The former aerodrome is now the site of the Red Deer Regional Airport.
No. 36 SFTS used Airspeed Oxford aircraft.

In the spring of 1942 construction began on a “relief field” for No. 36 SFTS at Innisfail. The relief field involved one hangar, a control tower, a barracks, motor transport garage, water pumping and water storage facilities, three asphalt runways 3000 feet in length in a triangular pattern with a taxiway and aircraft parking aprons.
