Following his wartime career, Howard Witwer was posted to No. 407 Squadron during the mid-1950's
and flew a number of times aboard the museum's Lancaster FM-159.
In 2001 he was a special guest at the museum's "Salute to the Lancaster"
during which he participated in the unveiling of a painting
honouring the greatest of the Canadian-built Lancasters, KB732 X-Terminator.
